I am experimenting with 3d (stereoscopic) documentation as part of how I record my work. I tend to use this more for my own reference than for display, but I have put some up around the site in case it is of interest. Sometimes I find it gives a better sense of the work, even if it is a bit clunky. You will find 3 kinds of 3d media.. |
These are basic stereoscopes. Shot on ordinary 35mm film. The nice thing is that they are full colour, with a lovely holiday-snap quality - but they do require a side-by-side stereoscopic viewer. These are not so easy to find, but if you are interested, contact me and I can sell you a simple paper one. (Image from "It Is Only The Wind Making The Stars Sway" in Mablethorpe Methodist Church.) |
These are red/cyan digital stereoscopes. They are a lot rougher, but can be viewed easily using any red/cyan glasses like this: . If you dont have any of these lying around, I have plenty here, and they are cheap if you want one. (Image from "You Go On Without Me" and shows the Museum of Chilhood, Bethnal Green). |
There are also some youtube 3D videos around the site. These can be viewed in a variety of ways, from basic red/cyan glasses, to more sophisticated 3d formats if you have those on your device. Youtube 3d is not yet supported on all mobile devices.(Video - "Motes" in the Leigh Art Trail). |
If you are interested in (super-basic) 3d documentation of your event please do get in touch. Likewise if you have any questions - or better 3d equipment! |
